The Coombe family has owned the farm since 1947, and it is now run by Peter and his son, Adrian, with the help of one full-time employee plus part time staff at harvest time.
The farm is 1 mile from Callington, population 5,000, and 15 miles from the city of Plymouth. This was formerly a tin mining area and the ruins of many of the engine houses can still be seen.
